📖 Overview

Well, as my name suggests, i love all things gundam, but in all honesty, this is a great anime with a good plot and cool mechas

🎬 Storyline & Narrative

The gundam pilots go to earth (for a reason that wont be told here), fight on earth, go to space (for a reason that wont be told here), fight in space, and try to resolve this huge war that is going on. The pilots go through lots of physical and emotional turmoil through this entire process, falling in love, searching for their true feelings, and all that stuff. Each pilot has his own personality and "mini-plot" that follows him/her, very entertaining

👥 Characters & Dynamics

Quatre Raberba Winner: Quatre is the kind, sensitive, touchy-feely kind of guy of the group, hes always concerned for other people, but at the same time, remains strong. Hes has a little of that "little rich kid" aire about him, but one of my favorite pilots. Suits Piloted: Wing Zero, Sandrock, Sandrock custom

Trowa Barton: Trowa is kind of the "I have no idea who i am" charachter. You find out little peices of Trowas past (which i will not delve into because of spoilers), and get the general feel for him. His side activity is working in the circus, which is entertaining at times, but annoying at others. Suits Piloted: Heavyarms, Heavyarms Custom, Wing Gundam, Vayate, Wing Zero

Heero Yuy: Heero is alot like Trowa in the sense that he doesnt really have an identity. He is the "loner" of the group who isnt suppose to show any care or feeling for anyone else. He warms up a little as the story goes along, but telling would spoil that :). Suits Piloted: Wing Gundam, Wing Zero, Heavyarms, Mercurius, Leo

Duo Maxwell: Duo is the "cool" guy in the group. He talks alot, and is always trying to be funny. He also has a "nickname" that would be a little bit of a spoiler, so i wont delve into it. Duo is my favorite pilot. Suits Piloted: Deathscythe, Deathscythe Hell, Deathscythe Hell Custom, Wing Zero, Space Leo

Chang Wufei: Wufei is kind of a mysterious guy, who tends not to assosiate with the other pilots in battle and usually is fighting by himself, for his own reasons. Wufei calls both of his gundams "Nataku", for a reason which will not be told here. Suits Piloted: Shenlong, Altron, Wing Zero

Zechs Marquise: Zechs is the "top pilot", "loner badguy/goodguy". He is a great pilot who has devoted his work to Treize, and eventually develops, shall we say, "multiple personalitys", but that you will discover yourself :). Suits Piloted: Tallgeese, Tallgeese III, Leo, Aires

🎨 Animation & Visual Direction

The animation is excellent, top quality. The gundams are highly detailed and the battles are well done with little "recycled animation".

The detail of the charachters is pretty good, and gives each of them their "own feel and personality"

🎵 Voice Acting & Soundtrack

I havent seen any of the dubbed versions of Gundam Wing, but the english voice acting is quite well done in my opinion, and should not be scoffed at. The voice of each characher represents their look and feel well

💬 Early-2000s Fandom Pulse Community Rating: ★ 4.5/5 (4 historical responses)
• Community Praise: This a great anime!!!!!! • I think for the story gundam wing should go 10 out of ten.
• Contentious Points: Well, its basically okay. I'll just adress problems that the reviewer did not put (Besides he said he was a little biased). WARNING!! SOME SPOILERS! Most gundam fans have a problem with Wing because of its repetitiveness of: Kill Leo's, talk politics (pasifism is a good idea, but is ultimately flawed), fight some more, talk, etc. I also disagree with the other reviewers in what they said. This isn't that good of an anime (although its just OK), and the story isn't that good, or believable. The story in Gundam Wing is basically the same old reshash of basica gundam traits such as a masked character (Which happens in most gundam anime), as well as dropping massive objects on earth. All this sounds okay, but actually seeing it is different from hearing about it. One major issue I have with Gundam Wing is the lack of character development for MOST characters (Not all). The character that probably developed most from the beginning to end of the series was arguably either Heero Yuy, or Zechs/Milliardo Peacecraft/Preventor Wind. Heero at the beginning was darker, as well as for the most part anti social. Later on, he sort of developed feelings for Relena (Friendship probably), and became overall "niver" and more "normal". Zechs (Who I shall now refer to him) also went through changes. First he was an ace pilot for OZ, then he becomes the successor to the Peacecraft lineage, and then becames spokesperson for the "White Fang", a "bad guys" group. But even with that kind of change, most of it takes place in a few episodes, so you never get why it happened unless you look closely. As for the other characters, well, nothing happens really, just them being plot devices (Quatre, Wufei, etc.) Relena is arguable also. Another problem is the story. The story is mostly made up of bits and peices of plots in Mobile Suit gundam, Gundam Z, and Chars Counterattack. Those main plots mix together and make Gundam Wings big, twisty, unrealistic, and somewhat confusing (For some) plot. The start bascally is the 5 main characters fighting the Earth Sphere, then OZ coming out about 1/4 through the series. Then they go to space, then their suits get replaced, then Mobile Dolls, then White Fange, and finally that big climatic battle. And between that is numerous battles of fighting numberous leos, aries, and whatnot. Okay, now thats basically it. Gundam Wing has an OK story, dull characters, haven't heard the voice work in japenese, and the animations fine. By the way, when it says: Remember! You're scoring the REVIEW not the anime! I was pointing out what he didn't review. And if that isn't enough then I'll give his review: 2.5/5. I thought it was okay, but didn't really discuss any major points in the story, or anything relevant to how good it was. It was more of a short description, and a persons opinions, not a full review. Sure I'm biased, I like gundam too, but that doesn't interfere with me pointing out what's bad about Gundam Wing.
