Vandread 2nd Stage
Overview
Another success made by the director, Takeshi Mori from Gunsmith Cats and MeltyLancer, and the staffs. Also By Gonzo for this outer space action comedy anime.
Storyline & Narrative
Though Hibiki and crew defeated a super-huge battleship of the earth in the last of the first stage, they noticed five battleships further aiming at Mejale and Tarak. And, crew of NIL-VERNA learnt Tarak and Mejale which were their home had been faced to the crisis of Karitori ( reaping ). Travel to their home is sped up so that they may inform of the crisis. On the way, current information of the earth having been brought by girl Misty who had come to travel with them was worse than they can imagine. Hibiki and crew noticed a true fight was in the future. VANDREAD is finally changed into final system by the attack of the enemy who becomes violent more and more. Can they save their home? And, what happens to the relations between Hibiki and Dita?
Characters & Dynamics
Hibiki Tokai- One of the main characters of the show. He's the the (only?) Vanguard Pilot in Nil-Verna. He's beeing called as Uchuujin-san
Dita Liebely- She's one of the dread pilots that could unite with Hibiki. She's a silly girl (as what Hibiki describes her)
Misty Cornwel - one of the new characters in Vandread. She's Dita's rival ('cause of Hibiki)
Meia Gisborn - The leader of the dread pilots. Often stubborn and calm.
Jura Basil Elden - She's one of the dread pilots too. She can also unite with Hibiki's Vanguard, though, the vandread looks like a crab.
Bart Garsus - He pilots Neil-verna (Nirvana)
Duero McFile - He's the doctor. He also helps Parfet for the mechanics.
Pyoro - the egg-shaped robot that Hibiki had found in Tarak's ship.
Animation & Visual Direction
The animation, as I would say, is great! It's special because it's done outer space. But the thing is, I can't get my eyes on it whenever the speed of the dreads etc. get on goin' I can't see the action going on. But still, it's a good one.
Voice Acting & Soundtrack
The voice acting is good. The voice actors were meant for each of the characters.
