Not a whole lot, like I said the art was short of amazing to watch. It seem to take animation to the next level but not to the point where you would label it greatness. Definetly the best thing in the entire movie.

A lot to list, once again the story was bland with a bunch of pointless turns and twists. An unbelievable amount of gore overwhelmed the movie, that was really a turn off. The characters were sort of annoying, and the voice acting was just flat. There was really no emotional grasp to the show... the kind that makes you gasp and quickly watch it again. Just didnt happen here.

Harsher in Retrospect ❄️ Modern Consensus: The 2001 critical skepticism remains accurate today, with modern retrospectives noting the same structural limitations.
X/99 seemed to have the right mind frame as far as story went but it was drowned out as the story went on. You'll more then likely find yourself struggling to stay awake unless you're so mindless as to enjoy pointless death and blood.
We follow Kamui through a story so bland as to make Jerry Springer blush. His dead mother visits him in a dream rambling on about going back to Tokyo. The fate of the world is on his shoulders, tis his destiny(snore). Kamui reunites with old friends Fuma, and his younger sister Kotori and promises to protect Kotori. In return Fuma promises to protect Kamui(see where Im goin). Enter bad guys..Bad chick with some killer cleavage convinces Fuma that its his destiny to oppose Kamui. Kamui is suppose to defend the world therefore making Fuma his rival. On Kamui's side are a few fighters as well as on Fumas side. (insert blood baths here).
Kamui=Whining almost, he's reluctant to fight to save Tokyo and the world and does a lot of complaining.
Fuma=To easy to manipulate, his character is supposed to be a big part but fails to hold to the task. He starts out somewhat strong but grows tiresome.
Kotori=Fuma's little sister who we don't see enough of.
Then theres some random fighters who I'm sure served some purpose but I was in too much of a hurry to get over with the movie I really didnt pay attention to them.
The animation was great in this movie(probaly about the only good thing)Aside from the pointless rivers of blood and standerd needle point chins on the characters you'll definetly ooohh and ahhhhh and some of the fight scenes as well as the characters. Beautifully done.. bravo(sulk in it animators its the only thing that was done right)
Dubbing was to what is requested of american fans I suppose. There was something however I wasn't too fond of I just cant seem to put my finger on it. Could of been the dull voice actors or just the bad script. Either way I wasn't too fond.

• Community Praise: He is absolutely correct in his review, the movie sucked.
• Contentious Points: Ya know, the story was layered with the general good-vs-evil as the main focus of everyone. But Kamui's part was of a tragedy, he wanted to protect those he loved, but was forced into an opposing position and constantly pushed by the Heaven Dragons to do the monunental job of saving the world. Fuma's part was abridged most likely compaired to the manga, so that's why he went over so quickly, that and Kamui's choice accelerated it too. The opening looked like it wanted to introduce the characters in the anime and not much more; it only set the stage and didn't have any plot beyond good-vs-evil, this is a very deep and sad story. Some of the voice acting was flat though. • Actually this's my favourite anime, but anyway u've made it looks bad...sob... Actually before we can judge it, i supposed we have to understand and comprehense the background story, this may seems twisted and boring. But then i realize that this's the plus point of the anime!! Yipee...does my review sound good?
